Designed for the Ceremony
Every element has been considered around the way a Maiyan ceremony is experienced by the bride or groom, family and guests.
Our Story
Amaya Chairs exists for one reason: to give the Maiyan ceremony the recognition, comfort and design attention it deserves.
How It Began
Amaya Chairs was founded by a husband-and-wife team who asked a simple question: if the Maiyan is one of the most joyful moments before a wedding, why shouldn’t its setting be designed with the same care as the day itself?
The Tradition
The Maiyan ceremony—also known in many families as Vatna, Haldi or Pithi—is a joyful pre-wedding tradition in which relatives and friends apply a turmeric paste to the bride or groom: a moment of cleansing, blessing and the unmistakable pre-wedding glow.
The Gap
Amaya Chairs was founded by a husband-and-wife team who saw how quickly the wedding industry was evolving while the Maiyan ceremony remained largely overlooked — and believed its setting deserved the same thought, comfort and design as the main event.
The Making
After extensive research, prototyping and hands-on development, the team created a complete Maiyan suite that brings together statement seating, practical supporting chairs, ceremonial accessories and coordinated keepsakes.
The Craft
Every suite is handcrafted in the UK at Amaya Chairs HQ. The designs are original, distinctive and created specifically for Maiyan, Vatna, Haldi and Pithi celebrations.
The Result
The result is more than a set of chairs. It is a complete ceremonial setting created to help families celebrate comfortably, beautifully and memorably.
At the heart of Amaya Chairs is a simple idea: honour the tradition while thoughtfully elevating the experience.
